Contin wheel necklace depicting the midieval wheel cross which is carved on ancient sepulchral slab found at the original site of Contin church. Contin church was founded around AD690 by saint Maelrubha who died in Applecross in AD722. The original building was destroyed by fire around 1486, the present building was erected in 1490, luckily this stone slab with its rare and unusual design survived the fire and was the inspiration for the range of jewellery made in the workshop today.
